Shropshire Motorhome Hire is a family business, with a personal touch. We find people like to travel around the country exploring at their own leisure and with complete freedom. Our aim is to provide a top quality driving experience, superb levels of equipment and comfort and holiday memories that customers will treasure forever.
The company is owned and operated by Mark and his wife Lisa. The couple run the business from their working farm in the village of Alberbury, near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Motorhome viewings are at Trewern, near Welshpool. Motorhome viewing may not always be possible in Summer due to demand.
We supply an extensive range of motorhomes for all purposes and we're always happy to discuss your plans and find the most suitable motorhome for you. You're very welcome to visit our base and view the motorhomes and we offer free, secure parking for the duration of your hire.
We aim to make hiring a motorhome from us as simple as possible, and with that in mind, we've put together a list of the questions we're most often asked. If you have a question that is not here, or you require any further information at all, please call 01743 884 864.
Q Who can drive a Motorhome? A The hire charge includes insurance for one named driver. Up to two additional drivers may be added for an charge of £30 per driver per week. Drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 70. If any driver has endorsements on their licence, a bad claims history or health problems, the insurance premium may have to be increased at the expense of the hirer. If you passed your test after 1996, your licence may not cover you to drive one of the larger motorhomes.
Q What does the insurance cover? A Our vehicles have comprehensive insurance anywhere in the UK. However this does not cover your personal possessions, we reconmend our customers to take out their own holiday insurance.
Q What is the £750 deposit for? A The damage deposit is held by us until the vehicle is returned to us in good condition, clean and with the waste tanks emptied. In the event of an insurance claim for damage to the vehicle or a claim from a third party (where you were held to be at fault), the cost of the excess is £750. For accidental damage £750 is your maximum liability. For damage caused by negligence, the full cost of rectification is chargeable.
Q Are your hire periods flexible? A Sometimes! We will always try to accommodate your preferred dates. However during busy times of the year we need to keep to a rigid timetable.
Q Can I hire during the Winter? A No, motorhomes are only available from March - November.
Q What do I need to bring with me? A The drivers must have their driving licences with them and proof of address. Bedding and towels are only provided as an extra. Otherwise our motorhomes are fully equipped. Drivers must change their paper counterpart to the DVLA online license check.
Q Do all the passengers have to wear seatbelts? A Our vehicles are equipped with seatbelts equivalent to the number of berths . You must wear seat belts when on the road.
Q Do you allow smoking in your motorhomes? A Smoking is not allowed, for the benefit of other users your co-operation would be appreciated.
Q Can my vehicle be left at your premises? A You may leave your vehicle with us for the duration of the hire, free of charge. This is entirely at your own risk.
Q What time can I collect/ return my motorhome? A Unless you make special arrangements, our motorhomes can be collected at 3pm. They must be returned before 10am. If you bring the vehicle back late, you may have to pay a fine together with an extra days insurance.
Q Can I use mains appliances? A Most campsites provide electric hook up points. We provide a cable to enable you to connect to the power supply, and then you will be able to use the standard 3 pin sockets installed in the vehicle.
